16 Hands is a Community Education Program created to educate primary aged children about the thoroughbred horse.

Supported by Racing Victoria, this free and unique incursion program is offered to primary school children in metropolitan Melbourne.This program gives children the opportunity to learn about thoroughbred horses through an interactive and engaging visit.

 

The program provides a fun-filled educational hour where children learn about horse health, anatomy and some interesting horse facts, presented by an experienced primary school teacher with content aligned to the Victorian Curriculum. The one-hour visit concludes with every child having the opportunity to pat a thoroughbred horse.
